Next Generation HDI™ Horn



Designed and engineered in our world-famous Acoustic Engineering Center of Excellence in Northridge, California, Stage 240H is a compact multi-purpose loudspeaker suitable for surround or elevation channel use. With the flip of a switch, it is a Dolby Atmos-enabled add-on, or a wall mounted elevation or surround loudspeaker. The 240H features a 2-way way design with Next Generation patented High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) waveguide geometry, a 1-inch (25mm) Anodized Aluminium dome tweeter, and a 4.5-inch (114mm) Polycellulose cone woofer that provides deep, signature JBL bass.

The 240H Dolby Atmos enabled height modules are outfitted with the same woofer and horn from the 240B bookshelf model. They are easily connected via binding posts on the top back of both floorstanding models, or surround channels that can be mounted on the wall or ceiling.

Each speaker in the Stage 2 series features Polycellulose ribbed cone woofers. This pure pulp cone has a proprietary mix of other materials added to improve its rigidity and the ribs echo legendary JBL designs. These woofers produce deep, accurate, room-filling bass.

Through intense research of previous waveguide designs, JBL has developed a new complex geometry that improves directivity, reduces diffraction, and achieves an overall neutral frequency response both on and off axis. The Stage 2 HDI Horn is coupled to an anodized aluminium dome tweeter to enhance efficiency and dynamics. This new design offers a neutral frequency response both on and off axis.
